Unified basic turbofan double-circuit double-shaft engine with mixing of external and internal circuit flows, reverse in external circuit and sound-suppressing system.


Use:

  • airplane IL-96-300PU of the President of the Russian Federation;
  • long-distance wide-body civil aircrafts IL-96-300;
  • middle-distance civil and cargo aircrafts Tu-204-100, Tu-204-300, Tu-204S, Tu-214 and their modifications.

Certified in 1992. In use since 1993. The engine is used by its technical state and has no limitations in respect of the time between overhauls and general operation (assigned) life. Complies with the emission norms set out by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in 2008 and ensures compliance with the ICAO norms (Chapter 4) on noise emission.

Certified in 2009 according to AP-33. Complies with 2008 ICAO emission norms. Aircraft equipped with the PS-90A2 engines comply with 2006 ICAO norms on noise emission(Chapter 4).

Comparing to basic engines:

  • safety increased by 1.5-2 times;
  • considerable reduction of the cost of life cycle;
  • reduction of servicing difficulty by 2 times.

Has a series of advantages in comparison with the D-30KP engine, such as:

  • Reduces operational costs by 1.7 times;
  • Increases reliability of power plant by 1.5 - 2 times;
  • Reduces fuel use by 13 - 17%.
