WE HAVE CONDUCTED SUCCESSFUL TESTS ON OUR FIRST HELICOPTER ENGINE TV3-117VMA SERIES 02, USING RUSSIAN-MADE PARTS

St. Petersburg, February 22, 2011. Klimov has successfully tested the first TV3-117VMA series 02 engine, built using Russian-made modular components. The tests were run as part of United Engine-building Corporationĺs (UEC) project to develop domestic helicopter engine production in Russia.

The engine was assembled using modular components produced in close cooperation with the Corporation. The work within the framework of gradual establishment of mass production of TV3-117/VK-2500 engines is lead by OAO Klimov, OAO UMPO, OAO Chernyshev Machine Plant, OAO Krasny Oktyabr.

In 2010 UEC enterprises prepared for production and made a test batch of modular components for testing in the engine, and in early 2011 tests began, and were successfully completed on February 20 at 14.00.

In the program of equivalent cycle tests, the engine confirmed a basic overhaul time (to the first major overhaul) of 2,000 hours.

According to the results of the evaluation of the engineĺs technical condition, in the second quarter of 2011 we will draw up the organisational documents for bringing on-stream the modular components in TV3-117/VK-2500 engine, prepared at UEC enterprises.
