PEC has produced its 600th gas turbine unit

On July 27, 2011 Perm Engine Company factory held a celebration of the delivery of its 600th gas turbine unit to the customer ZAO Iskra-Aviagaz.

The 600th unit was a GTU-25P with a capacity of 25 mW, which will be used at the Gagaratskaya compressor station on the Bobanenkovo-Ukhta trunk gas pipeline at OOO Gazprom transgaz Ukhta.

The ceremony was attended by Perm Engine Company managing director Alexei Mikhalyov, OAO Aviadvigatel managing director and chief designer Aleksandr Inozemtsev, United Engine Corporation managing company managing director Dmitri Kolodyazhny, ZAO Iskra-Aviagaz general director Viktor Pykhteev, deputy head of the Perm Regional government Mikhail Antonov, Perm mayor Igor Sapko, administrative chief of the Sverdlovsk region Vladislav Petenko, and others.

Alexei Mikhalyov, managing director of Perm Engine Company:

We are grateful to our customers and partners and to the city and regional government for their support for our programs of manufacturing and delivering industrial equipment. I would like to express our special thanks to OAO Aviadvigatel team and personally to the chief designer Aleksandr Aleksandrovich Inozemtsev. They not only developed the entire range of gas turbine units that our factory manufactures, but they were also at one time the driving force behind this activity. Since 1994 when the first gas turbine units were built, the factorys task has been to establish large-scale production of the units. And though it took us five years to put out the first hundred GTUs, in recent years we have been making 100 or more machines every two years. The total capacity of all the Perm Engine Companys units today amounts to 6,500 mW  thats 12 times more than Kamskaya Hydroelectrical Plant! And we have no intention of yielding our leading market position to anyone.

Dmitri Kolodyazhny, managing director of UEC MC:

Perm Engine Company and OAO Gazprom have been doing productive work together for just shy of twenty years. Over the course of that cooperation, the Perm manufacturers have proven themselves as reliable partners for Gazprom in its program to develop the natural gas industry. Today the Perm Engine Company offers a broad range of industrial engines with capacity from 2.5 to 25 mW, which are used to drive gas-compressor units, gas turbine pumping units, and power stations. The delivery of the 600th GTU speaks to the demand for Perm machines in gas transport and energy projects right across Russia. But we know that to be truly successful we need to meet the most important requirements set by Gazprom for gas turbines  reliability and simplicity of service and use. This is why our enterprises  PEC and Aviadvigatel  are constantly striving to increase the reliability and quality of their products.

Additional information

PEC main customers for GTUs are OAO Gazprom, OOO LUKOIL-West Siberia, independent oil and gas companies, regional generating companies, and industrial enterprises.

Today Perm Engine Company mass produces a range of 12 types of gas turbines, with capacity from 25 to 25 mW, developed by Aviadvigatel.
