Aviadvigatel JSC - course set for eastern Siberia

In June 2011, Avidadvigatel JSC and Irkutsk Oil Company LLC (INK) signed a contract for the supply of two Ural-6000 gas turbine electricity stations with a total capacity of 12 mW. The Perm Urals will fill the energy deficit at the Yaraktinsky oil and gas condensate field and allow INK LLC resolve its problems with utilizing associated petroleum gas.

INK LLC specialists visited Aviadvigatel JSC and familiarized themselves with how different customers use gas turbine power stations. In choosing equipment, they took into account the most important technical and economic factors: the efficiency of the gas turbine assembly, the measures of reliability, cost, the aftersales servicing expenses, etc. A significant factor in the decision was how quickly the equipment could be supplied, and the fact that Aviadvigatel JSC is ready to implement new design solutions.

According to the contract, the power station components will be manufactured by December 2011, the first part of the power station should be delivered in February 2012, and the second part is scheduled for delivery in March 2012. The station is planned to launch operations in May of the following year. Aviadvigatel JSC will supply the power station with packaged switchgear to connect with external electricity distribution networks, as well as equipment to dump part of the generated energy during periods of minimal demand. The Ural-6000 will work in a closed loop, without heat generation. But there is the potential to install heat exchangers in the future. The Ural-6000 will be equipped with a fire suppression system. INK LLC’s management is looking at the possibility of signing a contract with Aviadvigatel JSC for lifelong servicing of the equipment.

Ural-6000 gas turbine power stations are currently working successfully at installations belonging to LUKOIL-Western Siberia LLC, the Ivanov affiliate of TGK-6, Uralkaly JSC, and Burgaz LLC. Since 2004, a total of 18 Ural-6000 gas turbine power stations have been produced in Perm, and as of August they had worked a combined total of more than 200,000 hours.
