Oboronprom CEO Andrey Reus and Perm Krai Governor Oleg Chirkunov launch a unique new production complex

On Friday, January 20, a delegation from United Industrial Corporation OBORONPROM (including United Engine Corporation and Russian Helicopters)  headed by OBORONPROM CEO and member of the central committee of the Russian Engineering Union Andrey Geogrievich Reus  will visit the Perm Engine Company site.
The program includes trips to STAR, Reduktor-PM, the acoustics lab and testing stand for the Aviadvigatel PD-14 prototype engine, and the assembly line at Perm Engine Company.
The main event of the day is the presentation of a new production complex unique in Russia, to be started at the Perm Engine Company by Andrey Reus and Perm Krai governor Oleg Chirkunov.

The heart of the complex is an ALD SL electron-beam unit from Germany for applying the ceramic thermal barrier coating to one of the most important parts of an aviation engine  the turbine blades. There are just four of these types of units in the entire world. This equipment was acquired by the Perm Engine Company under the state program to develop civil aviation, and will allow PMZ to become the leading company within the Production of Turbine Blades Center for Technological Competency, which will be meeting the needs of all factories within the United Engine Corporation. The only unit in Russia is fit in a specially-built modern production building on the Perm Engine Company site, which was designed to incorporate energy-saving technologies and allows the development of technological processes on a basis of lean technology.

In addition to visiting the production spaces of engine-building companies in the city of Perm, the leadership of OBORONPROM will be meeting with workers. Representatives from Oboronprom will be talking about the potential for developing Russian engine-building over the next eight years, about plans to realize the federally-targeted program of development in the field and about other instruments used by the government to modernize domestic aviation production; they will also be taking questions from the engine-builders.

At the end of the workday, Andrey Reus will hold a conference of the regional department of the Russian Engineering Union, to look at the most topical issues and problems in Russian industry and at the measures proposed and taken by the government to support and develop the industry.
