NPO Saturn expands its social programs

As of February 1, 2012, workers at NPO Saturn’s headquarters in Rybinsk will be able to get a discount for the set meal at Saturn’s food production facility. The cost of the set meal in the factory cafeteria is set at 60 rubles. Taking into account the discount, the cost of the set meal (upon production of the discount card) will be just 30 rubles.

The inventors of this social initiative expect that with the launch of this new program of hot meals, the number of people utilizing the Saturn cafeteria will quadruple to 6,000. The cost reduction in the set meal will not affect its nutritional content, the lunch will remain optimally filling. To provide good service to the increased numbers of users, the cafeteria has reopened mothballed extra facilities, and has hired additional staff, installed modern new equipment, and introduced electronic accounting.

This new social project is the continuation of the ‘Saturn Discount Card’ program, launched at the company in October 2011. This program provides employees at Saturn’s headquarters in Rybinsk with discounts of 3-10% at a whole range of companies — shops, pharmacies, gas stations, travel agencies, sports clubs, nursery schools, beauty salons, and much more. Corresponding agreements have already been signed with more than 40 companies. The list of partners in the discount program will continue to grow; Saturn is currently negotiating with a further 30 organizations. And now the discount program, initially conceived with external partners, will also include Saturn’s own corporate cafeterias, and the discount has grown to 50%.

At the beginning of this year, the company launched several social initiatives at once. These include a worker housing program unprecedented in the field — new apartments for the best workers. To date, 70 families have already received the keys to their new apartments, built by Saturn. The apartments are offered at book value with interest-free payments spread across up to 15 years, and no down payment. The company plans to continue building new homes for its employees, including beginning of private housing construction.

Despite the difficult economic situation, Saturn continues to implement its considered social policies, including material aid, solving housing issues, improving employees’ health, paying a benefit for the birth of a child, running summer holidays for children, and supporting sporting, youth, and veteran organizations.
