Saturn Successfully Undergoes Certification Audit on Production of the SaM146 Engine Series Meeting EASA Standards

March 14, 2012 Rybinsk Saturn has undergone a certification audit on production of the SaM146 series of engines by representatives from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

The third certification audit by the EU aviation authorities is the final stage in the process of certifying production of the SaM146 engines under EASA (part 21) standards. According to the EASA auditors, the results of the checks suggest that in the nearest future Saturn will be granted approval for a certificate.

Certifying SaM146 engine production with EASA allows Saturn to safely operate the SaM146 engine in EU airspace.

Safran Group Operations Director Mark Vanter congratulated Saturn Managing Director Ilya Fedorov on the successful EASA audit. His message says, I just found out that Saturn successfully underwent a European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) audit for certifying production systems.
