Perm/March 15, 2012 In early March 2012 the Perm Engine Company delivered two gas turbine units (GTUs) for the trunk gas pipeline Nord Stream and thereby finished delivery of the second part of one of Gazprom’s most important assets. One GTU-16P is for the Shekinskaya compressor station and one is for the Pikalevskaya. All together a total of 29 Perm-built gas turbine units and four reserve engines have been delivered to four compressor stations on the pipeline.
Four out of seven compressor stations on the terrestrial part of the Nord Stream pipeline are fitted exclusively with Perm-built GTUs — the Elizavetskaya, Pikalevskaya, Babaevskaya, and Shekinskskaya stations. Three of them use GTU-16P 16 mW units, and the Babaevskaya station uses a GTU-25P, 25 mW capacity unit, to provide the extra power needed on this part of the line.
Alexey Mikhalev, Managing Director of the Perm Engine Company: “In fulfilling contracted delivery of gas turbine units to the Nord Stream pipeline, the Perm Engine Company has made a big contribution towards the implementation of one of the nation’s top-priority projects. Filling orders well and on time for our strategic partner Gazprom is an extremely important part of our factory’s production program. In the year in which we mark twenty years of our partnership with Gazprom, Perm Engine Company is setting itself the task of further developing and modernizing production, to increase output and repair of gas turbine units and improve reliability and quality.”
