Rossiya Special Flight Detachment Receives Another Airplane with Perm-Built PS-90A Engines

Perm/April 05, 2012 The fleet of the Rossiya Special Flight Detachment under the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation has received another airplane with Perm-built PS-90A engines. The aircraft is a Tu-214SUS (special communications hub), tail number RA-64524. This is the eleventh Tu-204/214 airplane in the Rossiya SFD fleet. The Special Flight Detachment now has a total of 16 aircraft fitted with PS-90A engines. In 2012 the Presidential Administration will be receiving an additional Tu-214.

The basic Tu-214 is a modification of the medium-range Tu-204 passenger aircraft, with an expanded maximum takeoff weight of 110.8 tons. Special Tu-214 modifications were developed for the Presidential Administration ó the Tu-214CR (command room), Tu-214 RR (radio relay aircraft), and the Tu-214 SCC (special communications center) ó airplanes fitted with specialized communications equipment.

All aircraft are fitted with the latest navigational equipment. The PS-90A engines are fully compliant with international regulations on noise and emissions.
