Perm Engine Companyís Best Women Workers Awarded Raisa Zemskova Prize

Perm/March 7, 2012 On March 6, the people of the Perm Engine Company celebrated International Womenís Day at the A.G. Soldatov Palace of Culture. The main event was the awards ceremony for the best female company employees, named after Raisa Alexandrovna Zemskova, holder of the Order of the Friendship of Peoples.

This year 15 women were awarded the prize. Among them were representatives from the workers (for example, Milling Machine Operator Roza Pislegina, Lathe Operator Lyudmila Fedotova, and Test Mechanic Marina Markovtseva), engineering specialists (Leading Technological Engineer Svetlana Tulupova), and female managers (Head of the Testing Department Lyudmila Ulyanchenko and Head of the Technical Control Department Olga Bessonova).

This is the 28th year that the Raisa Zemskova prize has been awarded. Many of the engine-builders who were awarded the prize were honored not only for their achievements in production but also for their success in raising children and for their civic and mentoring activities.

Awarding a prize named after the Honored milling machine operator Raisa Alexandrovna Zemskova on the eve of March 8 International Womenís Day is one of our companyís grand old traditions. This is a mark of respect for our best women workers, who have preserved their femininity while making a great contribution to the development of the domestic aviation industry.

Additional information:

Raisa Alexandrovna Zemskova (1938-2009), founder of a dynasty of Zemskovy workers, worked as a milling machine operator at the Perm Engine Company for 34 years. During her services she was awarded the Order of the Friendship of Peoples and the Order of Labor Glory, 3rd class, as well as medals ĎFor Labor Valorí and ĎFor Loyal Laborí.

The prize named for holder of the Order of the Friendship of Peoples R.A. Zemskova was founded by the Perm Engine Company in 1984.

Perm Engine Company (PMZ) mass produces aviation engines for civil and military applications, as well as industrial gas turbine units for power stations and gas transportation.

PMZ is a part of the United Engine Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of OBORONPROM specializing in engine-building assets.
