Saturn Founds the ‘Project Manager of the Year’ Annual Prize, Alexander Treshkin First Winner

April 10, 2012, Rybinsk In commemorating the first anniversary of the founding of subsidiary company SatIZ — the first manufacturing enterprise within the NPO Saturn and Instrumentalny Zavod project — Alexander Treshkin, SatIZ’s first General Director who has headed the company in its earliest stages, was named Project Manager of 2011.

Saturn is currently paying particular attention to implementing principles of program and project management within the company, leading to corresponding changes in the structure and business processes, all leading to improved efficiency. Of special importance in achieving these changes is the creation, broad distribution, and practical application of collective and individual competency in program and project management in the interests of business development. The project manager and project team are an important force for change, implementing new developments and innovations.

In the context of this new approach, one of the most auspicious projects in 2011 was the creation of SatIZ. This happened thanks to the dedicated work of the team headed up by Alexander Treshkin.

Chairmand of the SatIZ board and the Deputy Managing Director for strategy and innovative development at Saturn Marina Kustova congratulated SatIZ’s first director on his achievements, calling Alexander Treshkin “a pioneer, who can manage a team under difficult conditions, in the very first stages of transition from a tool factory into an independent business entity and subsidiary company of Saturn.”

Solving the new tasks facing SatIZ at the next stage of its development was a job that the company’s only shareholder — NPO Saturn — gave to Aleksandr Kurenkov, the new SatIZ general director. Until he took on the position of Head of the Tool Factory, Alexander Kurenkov was deputy chief engineer at Saturn. Alexander Treshkin will continue at SatIZ as Director of Production.

NPO Saturn is an engine-building company specializing in the development, production, and aftersales servicing of gas turbine engines for military and civil aviation, electrical generating and gas transport facilities, and military and civil marine vessels. Saturn is a part of the United Engine Corporation, itself a subsidiary of OBORONPROM, specializing in managing engine-building assets.

United Industrial Corporation OBORONPROM is a multi-faceted machine-building group founded in 2002. It is a part of the Russian Technologies group of companies. Its primary areas of business include helicopters (Russian Helicopters), engine-building (UEC), and other assets.
