Perm Engine Company at the International Salon Engines 2012

Moscow/18.04.2012. On April 18, the second day of the 12th annual international salon Engines 2012, the leaders of the Perm Engine Company held a round of talks and meetings with key suppliers and clients.

In particular, under the chairmanship of the first deputy general director of Oboronprom, DmitryLelikov, and with participation of PMZ managing director AlekseyMikhalyov and PMZ technical director Ivan Bashkatov, they met with representatives of the Russian Ministry of Defense. At the meeting they discussed plans to implement programs to renew production units and parts for the D-30F6 engine, used in the MiG-31 fighter jets. The Russian armed forces are interested in extending the service life of these highly effective aircraft, which could be achieved by increasing the operational life of the engines. As part of the meeting they named a number of issues requiring resolution before the programs can be finally confirmed by the Russian government.

Successful talks were also held with the key supplier of titanium parts for the Perm Engine Company  the VSMPO-AVISMA corporation. At the meeting the company leadership discussed problems hindering the signing of a partnership agreement in the next five years.

AlekseyMikhalyov, managing director of Perm Engine Company,

"In contrast to the MAKS international air and space salon, Engines does not generally serve as a forum for signing large contracts and long-term agreements. But for us it is very convenient to discuss current issues of cooperation and find common ground with suppliers and clients. The work weve done in the past two days of the salon was very productive for the Perm Engine Company and will allow us to develop future agreements successfully.
