Perm region governor Viktor Basargin included in solving the problems of the regionís companies

Perm/17.05.2012 On May 15, 2012, on the initiative of the Perm region governor Viktor Basargin who took up the position on May 5, 2012, there was a meeting of the regional employersí union of the Perm region, ĎSotrudnichestvoí. The main task of the meeting was to acquaint the governor with the major industrial companies in the Perm region ó their current activities, potential for development, and problems requiring urgent resolution by working together with regional authorities. Managers from more than 50 industrial companies took part in the meeting, as well as from two educational institutions that train specialists and lead scientific and technical work for industrial companies.

Perm Engine Company was represented at the gathering by the deputy managing director for production IlyaFomin. He presented to the meeting a short report on the fulfilment of production plans and programs for potential development at PMZ and brought to the governorís attention the need for a swift resolution to the issue of the Russian Defense Ministry placing an order for the delivery of the PS-90A76 engines made by the Perm Engine Company for the Il-76 aircraft. The production of more than 550 engines of this type by 2015 will completely occupy the companyís production capacity, allowing it the chance to fully implement plans for technical re-tooling of the plant and to achieve mass assembly of the fifth generation PD-14 aviation engine.

Perm Engine Company (PMZ) mass produces aviation engines for civil and military applications, as well as industrial gas turbine units for power stations and gas transportation.

PMZ is a part of the United Engine Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of OBORONPROM specializing in engine-building assets.

OBORONPROM is a multi-faceted machine-building group of companies, founded in 2002. It is part of the Russian Technologies group of companies. Its primary activities are helicopter building (Russian Helicopters) and engine-building (UEC).
