Perm Engine Company leaders among the top 100 production managers in Russia

Perm/17.05.2012 The business website ‘Production management’ www.up-pro.ru has published the results of its annual ranking of ‘Russia’s industrial elite — the top 100 production managers of 2012’. The ranking includes two leaders from Perm Engine Company — managing director Aleksey Mikhailyov and director for the development of production systems Sergey Nikiforov.

The main purpose of the ranking is to determine the most successful managers in the industrial sector, who have made a significant contribution to the development of their company, sector, and the country’s economy as a whole. The ranking is based on the principle of ‘the best choose the best’. More than 500 authoritative leaders from famous companies acted as experts, nominating those whom they consider to be the best Russian production managers.

The candidates with the highest ratings make up the list of the 100 best production managers in Russia. The top 10 included managers who got the highest number of votes. The remaining 90 best managers were shown in alphabetical order (http://www.up-pro.ru/specprojects/top100-pm/rejting-industrialnaja-elita-rossii-2012.html).

In 2012 the top 10 was headed by Sergey Chemezov, general director of Russian technologies and chairman of the Russian Engineering Union. The top 100 included leaders of corporations and companies that are part of the Russian Technologies group. These include Andrei Reus, OBORONPROM general director, Dmitry Kolodyazhny, United Engine Corporation managing director, Dmitry Petrov, Russian Helicopters general director, the leaders of Perm Engine Company, UMPO, Kazansky Helicopter Plant, Saturn Gas Turbines, Chernyshev, and NPO Saturn. It was also interesting that Perm was the second city after Moscow in the number of managers represented in the list — in addition to the leaders from Perm Engine Company in the top 100 there were also heads of three other Perm companies.

Perm Engine Company (PMZ) mass produces aviation engines for civil and military applications, as well as industrial gas turbine units for power stations and gas transportation.

PMZ is a part of the United Engine Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of OBORONPROM specializing in engine-building assets.

OBORONPROM is a multi-faceted machine-building group of companies, founded in 2002. It is part of the Russian Technologies group of companies. Its primary activities are helicopter building (Russian Helicopters) and engine-building (UEC).
