Gazprom delegation at Saturn Gas Turbines

On April 19 an official delegation from Gazprom, headed by the chief of department for transportation, storage, and usage of gas, Oleg Yevgenevich Aksyutin, visited Saturn Gas Turbines.

The delegation was shown the companyís production facilities for power units for energy provision at natural gas fields, gas transportation complexes, use for reconstruction and new construction of compressor stations on gas transportation pipelines. The guests visited the design bureau where the companyís products are planned, viewed production operations using the world-class cutting lasers, multi-coordinal automated production centers, assembly of gas power units based on parts from leading global producers (Caterpillar, MTU, MWM, Jenbacher), the production buildings for assembly of power units of large and medium capacity, the assembly lines making gas transportation units for the Russian gas transportation system, including the new GPA-16 Arlan and the GPA-Ts-25, of topical interest for the construction of new gas transportation pipelines. In addition, they saw the building under construction for the assembly of power units based on gas turbines made by Solar Turbines, the workshop that will make Waukesha magnetic bearings (these bearings increase the technical, economical, and ecological specifics of the units), the construction of a testing stand for small and medium capacity power and gas transportation units.

A presentation on improving the modular range of products was made by the head of the division for Energy and Industrial programs at United Engine Corporation, Sergey Alekseevich Mikhailov, who noted potential areas for company development on matters such as increasing production capacity and creating more flexible ways of working with clients.

The Gazprom delegation noted as a positive the fact that the company is developing an expanded line of equipment, particularly in creating and producing gas electricity stations with a nominal capacity of between 0.8 and 4 mW, and noted the potential for working with the client support center, offering online support and continuous monitoring of unit parameters at power installations, possibilities for the company to produce gas transporation complexes such as the new GPA-Ts-25 which will be used in the construction of the South Stream gas transportation pipeline. Gazprom has called the GPA-Ts-25 gas transportation unit the best for equipping compressor stations on the South Stream gas transportation pipeline, and by 2015 Saturn Gas Turbines will make and deliver 22 GPA-Ts-25s under this project.

They also reflected positively on Saturn Gas Turbines continuous improvement of its competitiveness by improving the quality of its production, branded servicing, and effective use of resources.

At the end of May there is a larger meeting planned at Saturn Gas Turbines on improving the reliability of gas turbine power stations.

The meetings were planned due to Gazpromís interest in this type of unit and the accompanying documents.
