Perm/December 12, 2012. On December 6-7, Perm Engine Company was visited by a delegation of young specialists from NPO Saturn (Rybinsk). The goal of this meeting between young engine-builders of Perm and Rybinsk was to share experiences and traditions of the youth assets of these two leading domestic manufacturers of gas turbines, united since October 2012 in the Engines for Civil Aviation division.
The first day of the visit by young workers from NPO Saturn was taken up with getting to know the Perm Engine Company, the whole area of the manufacturing facility, its main production lines and facilities. The guests paid special attention to the assembly and testing complex, where they could watch and evaluate the technology for assembling PS-90A family engines, comparing this with the similar technological processes used in Rybinsk. They also got exhaustively detailed answers from PMZ specialists on questions such as the design features and operational characteristics of the aviation engines and gas turbine units manufactured at the Perm Engine Company, the company’s requirements for its young specialists, vacancies, and PMZ’s advantages over other factories in Perm.
As part of the round table held the same day with representatives of the youth assets from both factories, the specialists shared experiences with one another relating to implementation of youth policy, organizing Youth Council activities, and on goals for the future and plans on how to achieve them. According to participants, this dialogue was extremely important and constructive, since it allowed them to see their work from a different perspective, objectively evaluate the work of the Youth Council, and increase their interest in their division colleagues’ ideas and developments.
There was time in the visit schedule not just for sharing ideas, but also for a highly competitive battle between the young engine-builders from Perm and Rybinsk. Though truth be told, it wasn’t a battle of strength, but rather of good nature and wits: on December 7 the teams from the Perm Engine Company and NPO Saturn entered the creative competition for youth teams Humor Cup 2012. The jury named the team from Saturn as one of the best.
Alexei Mikhalev, Managing Director of Perm Engine Company:
Bringing together the Perm and Rybinsk engine-building companies into the unified Engines for Civil Aviation division is not only a big step towards improving production efficiency. It is also a stimulus for implementing joint social projects that are important and necessary for our teams.
