The competition ‘Best Company in the city on production efficiency and solving social issues’ has been run by the regional administration since 2001. This year more than 30 companies of all types took part. The competition is traditionally held in two phases. At first a special committee evaluates the competitors on a number of criteria: expenses on innovation and the volume of investment in developing the company and productivity and labor conditions, creating jobs, offering social guarantees and support and so on. Based on the resulting rating points, 19 companies were selected. Altogether in the competition there were 12 categories, reflecting all types of commercial activity in industrial production. Awards were handed out by city manager Anatoliy Makhovikov.
