NPO Saturn holds a competition of professional skills for automated machine operators

May 20, 2012, Rybinsk ó The competition of professional skills for workers, production managers, masters, and engineers at NPO Saturn has become a treasured tradition.

On May 17 at the Saturn Training Center the final of the competition for professional skills for operators of automated lathes and milling machines took place.

Ten employees from the companyís manufacturing divisions, who had won earlier rounds, competed for the title of the Best in Profession in the theory and practice of lathing and milling.

The participants were:

  1. Alexei Viktorovich Nerubenko, operator of automated milling machine, 4th class, building 35
  2. Alexander Vladimirovich Kurnin, operator of automated milling machine, 5th class, building 57
  3. Georgy Gennadyevich Fedorov, operator of automated milling machine, 3rd class, building 5
  4. Alexander Sergeevich Ershov, operator of automated milling machine, 5th class, building 32
  5. Sergei Nikolaevich Goryachilov, operator of automated lathe, 3rd class, building 5
  6. Vladimir Dmitrievich Vasilyev, operator of automated lathe, 4th class, building 12
  7. Denis Sergeevich Baykov, operator of automated lathe, 5th class, building 29
  8. Yevgency Yevgenyevich Belov, operator of automated lathe, 5th class, assembly line 44
  9. Sergei Alexeevich Dmitriev, operator of automated lathe, 4th class, assembly line 45
  10. Alexei Alexandrovich Chuprikov, operator of automated lathe, 3rd class, building 57.

The theoretical part of the professional skills competition was composed of a test on the basics of metal cutting, measuring tools, ensuring quality of parts and assembly units, fits and clearances, labor protection, machine servicing, and safe working. The test included knowledge on G and M codes, reading management programs, a task on technical measuring of master components with the universal measuring tool.

In the production sector of the corporate training center, equipped with all the latest metalworking equipment, the competitors competed in making parts according to the given design and recommended technology. The competition jury rated practical knowledge, taking into account the measuring of master parts, quality of production, time spent on the task in accordance with set standards, compliance with labor protection standards, and the operatorís organization.

The best operators of automated milling machines were: Alexander Ershov (1st place), Alexei Nerubenko (2nd place). The best operators of automated lathes were: Denis Baykov (1st place), Alexei Chuprikov (2nd place), and Sergei Goryachilov (3rd place).
