Aviadvigatel Prepares for Certification of the PD-14

The aviation register of the Interstate Aviation Committee has received Aviadvigatelís application for certification of the PD-14 engine.

In accordance with the technical requirements to create the prospective PD-14 engine, the certification basis has been developed by UEC specialists Aviadvigatel, taking into account current flight worthiness standards: the standards for safe operation of engines for AP-33 aircraft and standards for emissions of AP-34 aviation engines. Now, having received approval from the IAC AR, Aviadvigatel has developed the large-scale work to prepare for the certification procedure ó it is developing and preparing a wide range of documentation reflecting the implementation of the PD-14 engine for the MS-21 aircraft project.

The company plans to successfully pass the first stage of certification ó the mock-up committee ó in the beginning of the fourth quarter of 2013. IAC experts will see: the plans for certification testing, an electronic model of the product, and other project materials. The next stage of certification will be factory testing of the PD-14 engine.
