UEC specialists take part in the Engineers of the Future Forum

Ufa, May 27, 2013

300 participants from across Russia came on May 26 to the Zvezdny Sports Complex at the Ufa Engine Industrial Association. Today is the opening of the regional forum Engineers of the Future, organized by the Russian Industrialists Union (including the Bashkortostan regional section) and the United Engine Corporation. Young engineers came to the shores of the Pavlovsky Reservoir to the Zvezdny sports complex. Representatives were sent by the Russian Helicopters holding, Concern Izhmash, Lepse Electric Machine Building Factory, KAMAZ, NPO Saturn, Kuznetsov, UPPO, UAPO, and others.

There is a packed educational program for participants, developed by the OBORONPROM corporate university. During the forum, subjects important for the development of the machine-building industry will be raised, such as the efficient organization of production, project management, creating compact and efficient production, and organizing services.

At the opening ceremony, young specialists were greeted by UMPO managing director and chairman of the Bashkortostan regional section of the Russian Industrialists Union, Alexander Artyukhov.

Today the state is looking with hope at our industry, and it is you, the representatives of the engineering profession, who must take Russian machine-building up to world-class levels,” said Alexander Viktorovich. “I am certain that you made the right decision in choosing this specialism — because engineers are the future. I hope that this forum will impart a lot of useful new knowledge that you will be able to use in your positions.”

The first deputy minister of industry and innovation policy for the Republic of Bashkortostan, Rustam Khairullin, and chairman of the Ufa city council Yevgeny Semivelichenko, also spoke.

Participants and company leaders in the industry then gathered at a round table on the theme ‘The main problems and priorities for developing domestic machine-building in conditions of global competition’. The lively discussion engendered questions about attracting young specialists to companies, increasing the prestige of the engineering profession, and implementing new technologies in production.

In the next few days, participants can look forward to master classes and work on group projects under the ‘Engineering Battle’ project. The results of the forum will be winners in individual categories and the best group project, as well as the companies whose representatives were most active in the forum events.
