Confirming reliability: another PS-90A engine has worked more than 10,000 hours without repair

On July 22, 2013, the working life of a PS-90A engine on one of the Tu-204-300 airplanes belonging to Vladivostok Avia reached more than 10,000 hours without repair, and the engine continues in operation. This is the second engine from the PS-90A fleet to exceed 10,000 hours of flight time. In February 2013 the first engine to cross the 10,000-hour threshold became a PS-90A-76 in operation with the Azeri airline Silk Way Airlines, on an Il-76TD-90 plane. A further six engines have worked for more than 9,000 hours on the wing without repair.

At present about 350 PS-90A engines are in operation on Il-96-300, Il-96-400, Il-76TD-90, Il-76MF, Tu-204, and Tu-214 planes and other versions, with eleven domestic and five foreign airlines. The total working hours for the fleet of PS-90A engines amounts to 3,350,000 hours.

The achievement of such flight time without repair is a record indicator for domestic aviation, confirming the reliability and high quality of the products of the Perm Engine Company.
