In six months UMPOs rationalizers have saved the company 14.7 million rubles

Over the past half a year, rationalization proposals from Ufa Engine Industrial Association employees have brought the company 14.7 million rubles in savings. There were 1,763 proposals from all parts of the company, and 707 of them have already been implemented in production. To compare: last year in the same period there were 1,476 proposals, so the numbers are up.

A total of 473 people took part in rationalization. In the intellectual property department they noted that this is a fairly stable number for the company. In the previous year, in a six-month period there were proposals from 483 people.

In July they also awarded the title of Best Rationalizer of the Company. This time it went to leading power engineer from the office of Alexander Shchelochkov, the Chief Power Engineer (his proposal led to the biggest savings of the year  3.4 million rubles). Also named best rationalizer were Gennady Rezvov, leading Engineer Technician in the operations department (bringing a savings of more than 2 million rubles) and pattern-makers in the foundry Dmitry Deryuzhkin and Maxim Palamarchuk, with savings of more than 100,000 rubles.

Ufa Engine Industrial Association (UMPO) is one of the largest producers of aviation engines in Russia. Its turnover in 2012 was 25,425 billion rubles. Its primary areas of business are the design, production, service, and repair of turbo-jet aviation engines and gas turbine units, as well as production and repair of helicopter technology units. UMPO is part of the United Engine Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of OBORONPROM handling engine-building assets. The Association is a member of the All-Russian Public Organization The Union of machine engineers of Russia. Regional Department of the Organization in Bashkortostan is headed by A.V. Artyukhov, Managing Director of UMPO since January 24, 2012.

United Industrial Corporation OBORONPROM is a multi-faceted machine-building group founded in 2002. It is part of the Russian Technologies group of companies. Its primary areas of business are helicopters (Russian Helicopters), engine-building (UEC), and other assets. According to 2012 results the corporation made products and provided services worth more than 270 billion rubles.
