Representatives from the United Engine Corporation (UEC) performed brilliantly at the annual Aviation Builder of the Year 2012 competition, held on October 31, 2013, in the International Trade Center.
As a result of judging by the expert committee, diplomas were awarded to teams belonging to UEC’s NPO Saturn OJSC and Aviadvigatel OJSC.
In the category For Creating New Technology, first place went to the team from Aviadvigatel OJSC for the development of technology for designing and making fully operational blades for the ventilator for the upcoming PD-14 engine. Another project by Perm specialists — Development of new types of two-chamber engines and improving aviation technology — was named the best in the category For Success in Developing Aviation Technology and Components (Design Firm of the Year).
Another win — third place — went to Aviadvigatel in the category For Training a New Generation of Specialists in the Aviation Field, represented by the project Integrated system of training engineering staff for the Perm school of aviation engine construction based on the Aviation Engines division at the Perm National Research Polytechnic University.
In the competition Aviation Builder of the Year, the team from NPO Saturn OJSC was also well represented. In the category For Creating a New Example, it won second place for the development of a high-pressure compressor for the upcoming engine for the Prospective Airborne Complex of Frontline Aviation.
In addition, the team under the general designer of the Rybinsk company was awarded a diploma from the organizing committee for the development of a ventilator-booster for the PD-14 demonstration engine for the Russian medium-range MS-21 aircraft, in the category For Success in Developing Aviation Technology and Components (Design Firm of the Year).
