Aviadvigatel at the Oil. Gas. Chemistry 2013 inter-regional exhibition

In October 2013, Aviadvigatel OJSC took part in the 15th inter-regional exhibition Oil. Gas. Chemistry, which was held at the exhibition center Perm Expo. Today this exhibition is justly considered one of the largest specialized projects in the Volga and Ural Federal Districts.

At the Aviadvigatel OJSC stand, specialists from the Perm-based design bureau presented a full-size PS-90EU-16A engine. The main difference between the PS-90EU-16A and previous versions of industrial engines by the design firm is the four-stage turbine with a nominal speed of 3,000 revolutions/minute to synchronize the revolutions with the turbogenerator without using a gear mechanism.

The first gas turbine power station in this class based on the PS-90EU-16A was brought online in March 2009 as part of the CHPP-13 in Perm. Today the CHPP (Combined Heat and Power Plant) is providing electrical power to Russiaís largest producer of cables and pipes OAO Kamkabel, as well as heat to the large residential district of Gayva. A similar gas turbine power station began working in 2011 as part of the GTU- CHPP in Sibay, and industrial center and main transportation hub in Bashkortostan.

The Aviadvigatel stand also presented models of the heat and power stations GTU- CHPP Ural-6000, the gas turbine power plant GT TTP-16PA and GT TTP-25P, and the gas turbine pump unit GTPU Ural-6000 for the transportation of oil.

It is worth noting that on the base of the gas generator aviation engine D-30 and PS-90A they have developed and are mass producing a whole family of gas turbine units with capacity from 2.5 to 25 MW for the generation of power and the transportation of gas. They have found broad application with Russiaís leading generation companies: Perm GTUs are installed at more than 100 Gazprom JSC installations as well as at those of OAO Lukoil, OJSC Surgutneftegaz, JSC Bashkir Generation Company, and many others.

Today there are than 700 gas turbine units and power stations made by Aviadvigatel OJSC installed at customer facilities. The total capacity of Perm-built equipment is approaching 8 GW, and the total working hours as of 01.10.2013 had exceeded 15 million hours.

The head of Gazpromís Department for the Transportation, Underground Storage, and Use of Gas, Oleg Aksyutin, had this to say about the work of the Perm engine builders: ďAviadvigatelís industrial gas turbines are a better fit for Gazpromís requirements than similar equipment made by other domestic producers. Aviadvigatelís position in the Gazprom market is confirmed by winning tenders on equipment, including for the projects Blue Stream, North European Gas Pipeline, and for the Bovanenkovo gas field. Cooperation with the Perm engine builders will continue into the future on mutually beneficial terms.Ē

Aviadvigatel OJSC is constantly seeking ways to improve the cost-efficiency of its products. One of its recent developments is in-house repair and servicing of equipment across the entire lifecycle. This unique opportunity has already been used by OOO Lukoil-West Siberia and OOO Lukoil Perm, which signed agreements for ongoing servicing for gas turbine power stations at the Povkhovsky, Vatyegansky, Pokachevsky, Krasnoleninsky, Tevlinsko-Russkinsky, and Ilyichevsky gas and oil fields.

Cooperation with LUKOIL companies is on-going. To meet the own-generation needs of OOO Lukoil Permnefteorgintez, Aviadvigatel is currently fulfilling an order for eight GT TTP-25PA units, which will allow the company to increase its energy efficiency.

According to Aviadvigatel OJSC chief designer A. Inozemtsev, modernizing the production technology remains one of the primary topics in Russiaís fuel and power industry. ďThe many years of cooperative work between OAO Lukoil and Perm engine builders is an example of mutually beneficial cooperation in the area of updating gas turbine equipment for the power and gas transportation sector,Ē said A. Inozemtsev.
