The results of the 5th workshop to transform production systems are drawn up

On November 12-14, 2013, at Salyut Gas Turbine Building there was the 5th Corporate workshop to transform production systems (TPS). The event was organized by the department for development of production systems at UEC, together with the OBORONPROM Corporate University and Salyuts department for development of production system.

The TPS workshop is held in order to teach the practice of transforming production systems, attracting participants to solve real problems at UEC organizations.

Sixty representatives of UEC companies took part in the workshop  in six working groups under the leadership of experienced mentors, they were set the task of developing project solutions to increase assembly line output and solve organizational problems proposed by Salyut using the help of lean production tools.

During the work on production, participants gained experience in working in a team, learned how to cut losses, apply analysis tools and work out comprehensive solutions to problems in order to apply this experience in the future at their own companies.

On the third day the groups presented their vision for solutions to problematic situations to the expert committee, which included heads of Salyut, OBORONPROM, UEC, and also invited experts from BETOBI and Orgprom.

The experts evaluated the results of the work on each project and rated them. The project Ensuring rhythmic production on assembly line 16 was named the winner in the Best Project category. Assembly line 16 is a machine assembly shop, and the group was set goals to reduce the cycle of production of turbine supports from 20 to 12 days and to ensure rhythmic procurement of assembly lines. The working group was headed by Aleksander Sukhoruchenko (URPS project manager at PMZ), and the mentor was Andrey Yegorov (the RPS group manager at Moscow Machine-Building Plantnamed after V.V.Chernyshev). The group members were awarded certificates from the Corporate University, along with gifts.

Based on the results of the 5th corporate workshop, certificates for Leaders in transforming production systems were awarded to four participants:

  2. 2) Elena Onyanova  head of the department at Aviadvigatel (Group  5 Organizing systems to ensure spare parts for equipment repair)
  3. 3) Maksim Yevgenevich Balashov  URPS project manager at PMZ (Group  6 Ensuring rhythmic production on assembly line 23)
  4. 4) Sergey Vladimirovich Zaikin head of assembly at Salyut (Group  2 Ensuring rhythmic production on assembly line 19)

Winners

In the opinion of the expert committee, not all proposals can be immediately implemented for objective reasons, but the majority can be implemented at companies within a year. The results of the implementation of projects will be calculated in one year from now.
