Saturn Gas Turbines has won the tender for delivery of 16mW gas transportation units for the reconstruction of capacity at the Petrovsk compressor station, a part of the Gazprom transgaz Saratov system of gas pipelines. Gazprom held the tender from 20.08.2013 to 13.12.2013, for delivery of 16mW gas transportation units for the reconstruction of the Petrovsk Number 4 compressor station.
Saturn Gas Turbines entered the Gazprom competition with its new GPA-16U gas turbine unit. The GPA-16U is a fundamentally new piece of equipment, developed according to Gazpromís technical specifications, and representing a unique gas transportation unit on which it will be possible to use various types of engines. Saturn Gas Turbines is thus far the only company with the experience in producing this type of equipment. At present production of the GPA-16U Number One for the Nyuksenitsa compressor station is in the final stages. According to the tender conditions, Saturn Gas Turbines will deliver to the Petrovsk compressor station six GPA-16U units in December 2014. After the reconstruction of the compressor station it will be hooked up to transport gas to the trunk gas pipelines South Stream and Urengoy-Novopskov.
