British delegation visits UEC

As part of the British air and space mission to Russia, on February 25, 2014, Gas turbine R&D Center Salyut was visited by a return visit from the air and space conference, which included representatives from British companies in the aviation and military-industrial fields. The host was the United Engine Corporation and its companies.

The conference began with a tour of the Museum of Labor Glory at Salyut, which presents the whole history of the factory from the moment it was founded up to the present day. In addition, the delegation was shown models of the best examples of engines from the domestic engine-building industry: the PD-14, AL-31FN, AI-222-25, and others. Then, at the Chaika Palace of Culture, the representatives of British companies specializing in high-tech manufacturing of parts and development and implementation of new materials, equipment, and production technologies, presented their work.

From UEC, the welcoming words were given by deputy general director Sergei Pavlinich, who emphasized the significance of the development of partner relationships between Russia and the United Kingdom in the area of advanced, high-tech fields of industry and applied science.

The director for marketing, sales, and international industrial cooperation Aleksandr Kornushov spoke about the companies and products of UEC, as well as upcoming areas of cooperation with the British air and space cluster.

In closing the conference, the Minister Counsellor on matters of the economy, trade, and investment for the British Embassy, Barbada Habberjam, and also the head of office for ADS GROUP LTD David Scotter, expressed their hopes and readiness for further cooperation.

United Engine Corporation is a subsidiary of OBORONPROM. UEC includes more than 85% of leading companies specializing in the development, mass production, and servicing of gas turbine technology, as well as key companies  selectors of the industry.
