UEC at Russia Power 2014

On March 4-6, 2014, the United Engine Corporation (a subsidiary of Oboronprom, part of state corporation Rostech) took part in the international exhibition Russia Power 2014, where visitors could see the latest developments in engine building and power units.

As part of the exhibition audiences got to see a full-scale GTE-4PM gas turbine, created for gas compressors as part of gas transportation units and electrical power generators within small and medium-scale thermo-electric power stations.

In addition, visitors got to see a demonstration of the full size E70/8RD marine gas turbine engine, created for use as part of ship power systems, electrical generators, and gas compressors at marine and shore industrial installations of small and medium capacity (from 8 mW and up).

In the power field the presented models (1:7) of units such as:

  • Block-modular power station ATG-10, intended for use as part of main or additional sources of heat and electrical energy. The gas turbine power station is fully modular and can be used in a block-modular format, or to carry out reconstruction of existing TPPs and boilers. The driver is the NK-14EBR gas turbine engine made by Kuznetsov.
  • NK-37 gas turbine engine developed by Kuznetsov for UES Russia and intended to work as the driver for an electrical generator as part of a 25 mW TPP. The NK-37 engine is a modification of the NK-36ST GTE and its parameters match those of the best gas turbine engines in the world. The automated launch system, high pre-launch readiness, the ability to work in automatic mode, allow the use of power units with the NK-37 both in the normal power mode and compensating for peak loads on the network in various climatic conditions.
  • Gas turbine power station GTE-25/NK 25 mW capacity, intended for use as the main or additional source of heat and electrical power. The main GTE-25/NK forms the power unit on the base of the NK-37 gas turbine engine. The GTE-25/NK is fully modular and can be used either in a block-modular format, or to carry out reconstruction of existing TPPs.
  • United Engine Corporation is a subsidiary of OBORONPROM. UEC includes more than 85% of leading companies specializing in the development, mass production, and servicing of gas turbine technology, as well as key companies  selectors of the industry. One of UECs priorities is implementing comprehensive development programs for the industry with new technologies meeting international standards

OBORONPROM is a multi-faceted machine-building group of companies, founded in 2002. It is part of state corporation Rostech. Its primary activities are helicopter building (Russian Helicopters), engine-building (UEC), and other assets.

Rostech is a Russian corporation founded in 2007 to facilitate the development, production, and export of high-tech industrial products for civil and military applications. Altogether, Russian Technologies encompasses 663 organizations, which currently include eight holdings in the military-industrial complex and five in civilian industry. The corporation works in 60 constituent regions of the Russian Federation and supplies products to more than 70 countries around the world. Its clear profit in 2011 was 45.6 billion rubles, and it made tax contributions to all levels of budgets of 100 billion rubles.
