UEC's geography

03.11.2016

The UEC has validated in PRC the trademarks of the helicopter engines' fuel control units

The JSC STAR (part of the United Engine Corporation (UEC), the leading Russian developer and manufacturer of the control systems for the gas turbine engines, has finalized the validation of the trademarks of the fuel control units for the helicopter engines of the TV3-117/VK-2500 family. This will enable the UEC to broaden its package of programs of the aero engines service maintenance.

The TV3-117/VK-2500 family (developed by the UEC) power the majority of Mi and Ka helicopters. The JSC STAR (based in Perm, Russia) is the developer and serial producer of its NR-3VM-T and NR-3VMA-T fuel control units, which provide for the fuel injection.

In the nearest time we will officially inform the PRC authorities that we have protected the intellectual property of the company,  says the JSC STAR managing director Sergei Ostapenko.  Thus, only the JSC STAR products will be sold legally on the Chinese territory. For us the foreign legal protection of NR-3VM-T and NR-3VMA-T is a major step in fight with the counterfeit products. As the next stage of our cooperation with the Chinese partners we see the organization at the Chinese factories of the licensed repair of the engine systems.

In the framework of the Airshow China 2016 (1-6 November, Zhuhai, PRC) the Chinese manufacturers and the repair companies were informed about the validation of the JSC STAR trademarks.

Having in China the licensed repair of both engines and engine systems will guarantee the safe exploitation of the helicopter engines in the country. Earlier, in 2014 the UEC has signed the agreement on organizing at the Jinjiang plant (Chengdu, PRC) the licensed repair of the TV3-117/VK-2500 helicopter engines.

The UEC in the framework of the Airshow China 2016 is presenting the newest Russian aero engines and is discussing with the Chinese partners the realization of the ongoing cooperation programs and the prospective projects.

The UEC (part of Rostec state corporation) is an integrated structure specializing in the development, serial production and service maintenance of engines for military and civil aviation, space programs and the navy, as well for the oil and gas industry and energetics. One of the priority directions for the UEC is the realization of the complex programs of the engine sector companies development including the introduction of the new technologies corresponding to the international standards.
