UEC presents the PD-14 new generation civil aero engine in Iran

The Russian United Engine Corporation (UEC, the integrated structure uniting all major Russian gas turbine engine developers and manufacturers) is presenting the newest Russian civil aero engines, including the new generation PD-14 engine developed for the MC-21 airliner at the Iran Air Show 2016.

The Iran Air Show 2016 is taking place from 16th until 19th November on the Kish island (Islamic Republic of Iran).

The UEC has planned the talks with the civil operators of the aero technics powered by the UEC engines. Apart from the PD-14 the UECís show exposition includes the TV7-117V helicopter engine.

The corporation is expecting, that Iranís aviation market, which is very promising for it, rapidly grows amid the process of lifting of sanctions, and is confident, that the increase of the park of the commercial aircraft and the rise in intensity of its exploitation will create a firm ground for the mutually beneficial cooperation with the Iranian counterparts.

An important area of cooperation with Iran is providing for exploitation of the current and future park of engines, including the repairs, the componentsí supply and teaching the exploitantsí or the specialized enterprizesí personnel.

PD-14 is a base turbofan engine, which is being created by the UEC for the purpose of powering the Russian MC-21 airliner. The most up-to-date technologies and materials, including the composites, are in use. This is the first completely Russian engine for the civil airliners, created in Russia during the last decades. The flight tests have started in 2015.

The TV7-117V engine, developed for the newest Russian Mo-38 helicopter, is one of the most promising turboshaft engines in the world. Among its futures there is the ability to secure the flight by turning on the emergency thrust rating with power output up to 3 750 shp. The new full authority digital engine control (FADEC) system is installed.

The UEC (a part of the Rostec state corporation) is an integrated structure specializing in development, serial production and service maintenance of engines for military and civil aviation, space programs and the navy, as well for the oil and gas industry and energetics. One of the priority directions for the UEC is the realization of the complex programs of the engine sector companiesí development, including introduction of the new technologies corresponding to the international standards.
